Vrijeid's Aaron, IPO3, VPG3, WH   X   Nicky's Willow Leif, CGC, PSA1

Aaron is from Vrijheid's A-Litter (Leiru FR3 x Dana SchH3 FH CGC).  He is a
very driven dog in all phases, and fully capable of working the toughest streets as a K9 with his tremendous power and will to dominate the helper.  He routinely knocks down helpers on the long bite yet is focused enough for excellent tracking! His grips are obsessively full and hard. Aaron has PennHip scores of .32/.37, putting him in the best 10% of Dutch Shepherds evaluated.

Puppies Produced - 4/26/2006

This is only the second litter produced by Northwoods K9. We have very high expectations for these puppies. They are UKC registered out of parents with very solid temperament and certified hips. I have worked very hard to socialize this entire litter to a variety of things. They have been inside on a variety of surfaces and have even been exposed to agility equipment. All of the puppies show working potential. They are all exceedingly confident and there is no doubt that

every single one of them can and will title.

Before placement, all of these puppies will be vaccinated, dewormed, current on heartworm prevention and microchipped.

Blitz, PD1

USPCA Patrol, Narcotics & Tracking Certified

2nd PLACE - USPCA

Regional - Michigan 2008

Blitz is owned, trained and handled by Darren Steele of the Sterling Heights Police Department. He is a very driven dog, that is also very social. We are all excited to see Blitz grow and progress in obedience, agility, tracking and protection.

September 2008 - Blitz took 2nd out of 26 dogs at the USPCA Regional in MI. He, along with Brandy & Atlas (from the A-litter) dominated the first 3 placings.

August 2007 (17 months) - Blitz passed his PD1 though the USPCA

10/26/06 in an email from Darren- Blitz and Brandy are doing great. Both are pretty good trackers. They are growing fast!! and always full of energy.

7/15/06 - Weight at 11 1/2 weeks is 18.3lbs.  I have decided to keep this girl. She is very confident and puts everything in her mouth. She is just a bit edgy. I accidentally stepped on her the other day and she bit me :-) She loves tug, is well built and has great drives. I hope that she is as committed as Willow and has some edge to her as well. Please watch for her own page and updates as she develops. She is very dark brindle with a high tail set.

Keep an Eye on Brass's very own page to watch for training accomplishments and updates!

Balen's own webpage:

6/2008 - Balen is doing very well in her FR training. She will be going for her FR Brevet this July, with a FR 1 hopefully to follow.

Balen now lives in Connecticut with Christine Johnson where she is excelling in French Ring Training. Christine has handled Dutch Shepherds and Belgian Malinois to the highest level of French Ring and trains with the esteemed club "Command Dogs."

8/24/06 - The last month has been very hard on me. I have gone back and forth about which puppy to keep. Balen is extremely driven - almost to the point of frantic. She is confident and very, very social. She is a very "sporty" dog right now, but I anticipate that her defense will kick in and back up her tremendous prey drive. She is a blast to work and goes through anything. She is currently on a puppy sleeve.

7/15/06 - Weight at 11 1/2 weeks is 16.5lbs. This is a very strong and independent female. She lives to have something in her mouth. She is petite and confident in all situations. She is currently the smallest of the litter, but her weight is exactly what Willow's was at 11 1/2 weeks. Willow is typically 57-60lbs. This puppy will be a bottle rocket with tons of drive. Currently, she has demonstrated her agility and ability to pursue and corner on a dime.  Excellent working prospect for agility, flyball or protection sport. Tight, dark brindle coat with a small white spot on her chest.

Bliss

Bliss is now owned and handled by Marianne Ivancsics in Ontario. Originally, she got Bliss to do competitive tracking with. But things went so well, she was invited to train with the Hamilton Police Department Search and Rescue Unit.

9/4/06 - After evaluating the three puppies that I kept back from this litter, Jerry Bradshaw of Tarheel Canine (founder of PSA and the holder of multiple federal dog contracts - including NASA) thought that Bliss was the pick puppy. He felt that her natural, deep grip was unmatched and put her far above the other puppies. This was the puppy's third out of state adventure and included in-depth socialization and many new environmental situations - including a 4 hour ferry ride. Bliss was confident and remained interested in the people and games going on around her!

8/24/06 - Bliss is a pleasure to have around and work. She is very social and simply gorgeous. She has a medium coat and amazingly correct conformation. She is extremely ball driven and has mastered swimming half the pond to retrieve. She has an amazing sense of working together and brings the ball back every time - she knows it will lead to more play. She loves bitework foundation, striking and carrying confidently. She is sensitive to verbal correction. She will be an excellent working prospect for someone who is not overbearing and can work a dog that is every-so eager to please.

11/15/06 - Weight at 11 1/2 weeks is 19.8lbs. This girl is very well balanced. She is social and wants to greet, but she has no issues pursuing her own activities. She can be hard on the other puppies and is extremely possessive where they are concerned. When she has something in her mouth, it is HERS. Her confirmation is also extremely correct. She has a dark brindle coat with no white. Very small area of pigment on her tongue.

Brink

Northwoods On

the Edge

6/2008 - Via email from Michelle:

"Thanks for keeping us updated!  Just to keep you updated, Brink finished her 'agility dog' title (first title) today! ;-)   She also won her Steeplechase 26" division against a very competitive field! (USDAA)   So she is doing awesome in agility!  She also has earned flyball titles including her Flyball Championship this spring."

Brink is owned by Dan  & Michelle Pascerelli in CT. She will be training for competitive flyball as well as agility. We are very excited to see how she grows.

11/14/06 - Michelle emailed with an update - also promising pictures soon!  "At her first "official" flyball practice on Sunday she was unphased and certainly very focused. She only has eyes for Dan! ;-) She did on the flat recalls with her ears pinned back and driving to her tug without hesitation and without notice to the other dogs running along with her. "

8/4/06- Michelle emailed with pictures and had this to say :

"Brink is doing very well...the star of puppy class! She is definitely smarter than my Mal was at this age...she loves her recalls to tug and Dan is starting doing targeting work, backend awareness and flatwork for agility and she WANTS to work constantly. :-)"

07/15/06- Update from Dan is that Brink is housebreaking quickly and has also caught on to the clicker with ease. She is offering behaviors constantly including basic obedience (sit and down), but also come to hand and scooting backwards.

6/2008 - Ike has been back in my care. We began narcotics training with him and he has done superbly. He is now fully certified on meth, maryjuanna, coccaine & heroine. Ike has a very nice passive alert. Check back for updates on his placement!

This puppy is now owned by Zach Williams in Portland, OR. He will be training for Schutzhund. Zach is a member of the same club where Aaron trains. We look forward to hearing stories of this boy following in his Dad's footsteps. The picture at the top of the page is Zach driving Aaron.

08/07/06 - Email from Zach - Everything went great today. I picked up the little guy and he seems to have handled the trip quite well.  He came out of the crate wagging his tail and wanting to play, which of course we did.  And now he thinks I'm a pretty cool guy.  You weren't kidding about his confidence, it took him no time at all to help himself to the run of the house as well as many of my daughter's toys that he could find. So far I really like what I'm seeing in him and look forward to training him.

Brandy, PD1

USPCA Patrol, Narcotics & Tracking Certified

1st PLACE - USPCA

Regional - Michigan 2008

Brandy is owned by the Birmingham Police Department and handled and trained buy Officer Ulrich Schultz.

September 2008 - Brandy took 1st out of 26 dogs at the USPCA Regional in MI. She, along with Blitz & Atlas (from the A-litter) dominated the first 3 placings.

August 2007 (17 months) - Brandy passed her certification though the USPCA and was invited to attend National's on behalf of Region 16. She was unable to attend, but we are looking forward to next year!

8/22/06 - Spoke with Richard Heins of the Sterling Heights Police Department - training director for this group and handler/trainer of Morgan, USPCA Region Champion again 2006!! He described Brandy as AWESOME. He also called her a tracking machine, indicating that at her young age of 16-17 weeks, she was already better than 2/3 of the current K9 training program they were working with. Richard credits a lot of the success to Uli's dedication to his dog!
